Seems like every time you’re up’s when I’m down
When I’m left you’re right and I’m wrong
As I’m walking out the door you’re still layin on the floor
I’m already gone
When you are open and free
I’m locked in my misery
Now we’re tying up our laces to follow the same paces but somehow we’re out of synch
Must be synchronicity’s gone you’re on a rhythm so different from mine
I could be serendipity baby and if we’re meant to be it’ll be by design
Nah nah nah
I’m stuck at work you’re on a holiday
Nah nah nah
Feels like we’re always on a different page
Got me bending over backwards
For something I don’t even know
Wait a minute I was thinking maybe
We could take this faster so we could start to take it slow what’s the rush?
You taste like summertime while standing in the snow
With you who needs heroin? (how low do you wanna go?)
Must be synchronicity’s gone you’re on a rhythm so different from mine
I could be serendipity baby and if we’re meant to be it’ll be by design
Nah nah nah
I’m stuck at work you’re on a holiday
Nah nah nah
Feels like we’re always on a different page

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
